Are there real Blogging secrets?

One of the "real" blogging secrets is to post frequently.

Guilty!

I'm not going into the reasons (excuses) for not doing it as I used to. We all know that life gets in the way and sometimes we have to learn to let it... keeping our eyes in our goals and walking towards them.

I've posted about Blogging Secrets before. But there are more tips and secrets to learn.

And part of our job as Network Marketing Moms is to keep training and learning.

So when I read about MLM Blog Secrets I was excited.

It seems like every day and every week there are new launches and new products that can actually change our lives, turbo-charge our businesses and make us rich (not quick though: with effort and investment).

We don't need to invest in every single one of them. It's not just about the money because as business owners we need to invest in our business and ourselves. It's about time. When we are raising a family, time feels like water in your hands. Slips away. And some days are more productive than others.

But his is a product that I feel good about being an affiliate and one that deserves my investment. I'm learning very good things and it's what I needed to start making changes.

How Justin Beaver getting arrested can improve your online presence

We just came home from a Baseball game. On our way here one of the DJs said in the radio that Justin Beaver has been arrested. Needless to say, this provoked reactions in my children. They are not big fans so they were actually enjoying the news in bewilderment. Was it true?

The DJs kept saying the same thing every time they came back from commercials but didn’t offer further information. Never said it was for real or a joke.

My husband said “it is what you do to get attention”. He was talking about the radio.

They DJs gave the people’s reaction: Twitter was about to collapse, Skype was bursting, everywhere the adoring Justin Beaver fans where trying to find an explanation.

They just said that if they wanted more information, they needed to go to the website. I already forgot the link, but my children where quick to tell daddy what it was so he could look it up online.

What a marketing strategy! They never said it anything solid about the headline. They just wanted people to go to the website.

And internet marketers can actually learn and capitalize on something like this.

You can learn a way to improve your online presence: give big news and create expectation about it so people can’t help but do what you want them to do. In this case, visit a website.

We can capitalize on news like this by grabbing people’s attention with current news. Once we have people’s attention, we can give information in our area that somehow relates to that.

I have seen, for instance, titles that used keywords like “Michael Jackson’s death” or “American Idol results” that didn’t have to do directly with the subject. It is a way to get traffic because you can be in the first pages of Search Engines fast (at least for a short period of time).

My husband couldn’t find anything about Justin Beaver getting arrested. It seems like the kids didn’t remember the website after all and there is nothing online about it.

What just confirms that it was a marketing strategy to have online visitors. Whatever that website is, I bet it is getting tons of traffic right now.

And I might benefit from it, too.

What goes around comes around: How to make your Online Business work

During the last snow storm I was able to see a good example of how what goes around, comes around. If we give without expecting anything in return, it’s likely that we are going to get even more than we gave.

As my husband was shoveling some snow, a neighbor asked him for help. He helped him and because of that, he couldn’t shovel the snow out of the cars. He was too tired to keep going. He went back after few hours and as he was doing that, I saw other neighbors cleaning our side of the sidewalk.

I felt compelled to give something in return so I made some coffee for them. I felt good about giving but I doubt they were expecting anything. They didn’t even know that I saw them giving us their time and help.

My husband came back with some soup. Yet another neighbor had asked him to help her with her driveway. In exchange he could use her snow blower. He helped her without expecting anything else but he got that delicious soup.

As we gave, we were also given. We helped and we received help. We did it generously and the same was done to us. It was a beautiful flow and exchange of value.

In our Online Business happens pretty much the same. When we start giving without expecting to make every sale, we start receiving. When we focus on giving value because someone else is going to benefit, we are given value too.

Blogging tips: Three blogging secrets for Network Marketing Moms Part 2

Blogging is a great way to establish yourself as a leader in your niche, especially when you are using the Internet to build your Network Marketing Business.

Here is the third secret that can help you optimize your search engine (be in the the first pages of Search Engines)

3. Ping, Digg, Social Bookmarking: This is a valuable piece or information. Don’t overlook it and use it!. Every time you have something new in your blog, ping it!.

Pinging is a way to tell several Social Media sites that you have something. It helps with search engines too. Use one of this websites: pingoat.com, pingmyblog.com or ping.in. You only have to add your URL and the FEED URL (I’ll make another post about it), and select the sites you want to send the information to. Believe me, it can make a difference. Make it a habit. It takes less than a couple of minutes.

As for Digg and Social Bookmarking, it takes more time but it’s a great way to put your information in front of more people. You can install Social Bookmark Services in your bar and use it every time you have something new. This Service includes Digg and other websites where people exchange information. Share your own blog posts and other people’s valuable information. Remember that in Attraction Marketing giving is key. When you only give your stuff that is taking!

Blogging tips: Three blogging secrets for Network Marketing Moms Part 1

Blogging is a great way to establish yourself as a leader in your niche, especially when you are using the Internet to build your Network Marketing Business.

There are three secrets that I want to share here because they help me use my time efficiently and have taken some of my posts to the first pages of Google.

1. Know your keywords and who you are targeting with them: Keywords, like the word estates, are key! They can help you rank way high in the search engines and that in turn helps you with traffic for your blog. Google the keywords “network marketing moms”. I own almost all of the results in the first page. It’s my niche and I work smart to stay there. But I also target other keywords with more traffic.

I’ve given before a link to a great source for keywords: http://vur.me/networkmarketingmoms/digforgold/. It can be time consuming to find a good keyword but this Report really helps you see that sometime we waste time using keywords that don't have traffic. You will need it often.

2. Use your blog like a book: Don’t hesitate in have more than one keyword. Every blog post is like a chapter in a book and it can drive more traffic, even for different target markets. Look up again “home parties or mlm online”, I own the first two or three results. I’m targeting not only moms but network marketers who are interested in Home Parties.

Use one keyword and target it, use another one and target it. Don’t use one keyword and try to give everything to know about other subjects. Concentrate. If your blog’s title is your name, this is even more important.

Be careful not to do opposite either: do not use every blog post for a different keyword. Group them under few categories.

WHAM: What is your brand in Network Marketing?

In case you didn’t know, WHAM stands for Work At Home Mom or Working At Home Mom. More and more moms are deciding to be home with their children and make money. There are many possibilities for moms to make money from home.

You can work for somebody else or start your own business. I find Network Marketing to be a great option for Moms who Work from Home because of its advantages. It doesn’t mean is the only option though. Many women have their own Company and products.

Either way, you still need a brand. Your brand is YOU. And that has to be at the center of your efforts, especially in Network Marketing. Of course you need a great product and service, but you want people to recognize your name.

By recognizing your name people feel like they have a relationship with you. It feels familiar to them. They may even find a competitor’s products to be the same quality than yours and still want to buy from you.

Don’t overlook the importance to make yourself known, even if your Company doesn’t go by your name. When you are in Network Marketing this is even more important because people will join YOU. They should know you before they know about the Company you represent.

Use the Internet to market your name and establish yourself as a leader. Give your prospects the opportunity to know you more with a website where your personality shines through. Use pictures, audio and/or video. Using the Internet doesn’t mean that people can’t see you.

Online Network Marketing tip – Why you need more than a website

Did you know that having a website is not enough to generate leads in Online Marketing? It’s a big part of your strategy, but you need more than a good website (take note: a good one, not just one).
It doesn’t have to be overwhelming for you if your budget is tight or just don’t know where to start. A blog is a perfectly fine way to begin.
But you also need a good system to follow. An Online Marketing system teaches you exactly what to do in every step of the way, what to say, which websites are the best for getting traffic, etc.
You can become an affiliate of the system you are using. That way you have another potential stream of income because you can promote it and monetize.
More than one Online Marketing system can do that for you. There is no one magic system and you can even follow two or three. That way your associates have more choices too.
But even a good system won’t do miracles for you if you don’t act upon what they teach.
The variable is you. How, are you going to make this happen? What do you have to offer to the Industry that makes you likely to succeed?

Why do you need a domain name in your Network Marketing business?

Actually, a domain name is a must for any business. The first reason why you need a domain name is that gives you recognition. It gives you uniqueness and separates you from the pack. It can make a lot easier to find you online and it's going to show that you are serious about your business.

A domain name is what people type in the browser box (that rectangle where you type "www.....com"). For example, google.com, yahoo.com, blogger.com, are all domain names. A good domain name is going to stick in your prospects' minds and it can minimize misspellings.

Maybe your company gave you a website. But usually is something like "www.yourcompany.com/you". With your own domain name you can have your own name in the browser and redirect that address you your company's. See for example what happens when you type "www.angelicaried.com" . See that? I redirected my domain name to my blog and before I did to The 7 Great Lies of Network Marketing. You can do that when you buy any domain. I also bought another during the weekend that is going to be different. Come back to see what I'm doing with that new domain.

As your business grows and your Internet strategy lifts from the ground, you'll see that you will want more domains. But for now don't get overwhelmed and don't be afraid. They cost about $10 a year. If you want hosting (what allows you to have content, like building your own website) and more services, it's going to cost more.

The two services I've used are Orderyourname.com and GoDaddy.com. They are very well known and trustful. Just trust me on this one and start with your own name. Your Network Marketing business will benefit from it in the long run.

A good online presence Part 2: How do you establish your online presence?

We know it’s important to have a web presence. Making our names known will show that we have the knowledge, wisdom, common sense and willingness to help and guide others.

So, how do you build a good and strong presence online? There are many different ways! And the best part is that most of them are free. I have to warn you though: it’s doable but it takes time, consistency and persistence. You have to set a frame of time to work on some kind of online presence activity. OK, here are some ways to do it:

1. Blogging! Blogs are a personal way to reach your prospects. See my post about blogging here.
2. Writing articles related to your keyword or the subject you are promoting. When submitting an article, use the box for personal information wisely and add links. There are many e-zines where you can publish, like ezinearticles or goarticles.
3. Participate in forums and always leave a signature with a link to your website (i.e. your blog). Offer valuable comments beyond the “good job” common one.
4. Place ads in sites like Craiglist.
5. Ask questions and offer answers in Yahoo Answers or similar websites.
6. Use social sites to socialize and leave comments about websites related to your interest. It’s tempting to take long to do this, but you don’t need more than 10 minutes (I’m getting better at this too). One great site is SocialMarker, where you can find the best websites to submit to.
7. Create an online business card. I found this website called BusinessCard2 that looks very professional.

And these are only some of them! The most important thing is to take action to have a good online presence. Start with something today!

A good online presence Part 1: Why is important to have a good online presence?

We talked about the importance of Marketing and that we need to take advantage of the Internet to market the most important product we are promoting: ourselves. The importance of a good online presence, or web presence has to do with building a relationship of trust that we need to establish with our prospects. It is making your name easy to recognize by others. There are different ways to institute you as a leader and the expert many people will want to join in business.

A good online presence is important because when people look for what you have they need to know they can trust you. It’s the same principle we use when we approach prospects one by one, but using the Internet allows us to be in many different places at the same time. It’s leverage at its best. Instead of taking several conversations and encounters for someone to trust you enough as to hand you his or her credit card, with a strong web presence you can come across as the mentor they are looking for.

With a good online presence you’ll make your name known to others. Imagine if someone comes across your website and likes what she sees. She (or he) might want to know what else you have out there and searches your name, will it come up? What content will it show? Nowadays a web presence is about generosity so the more information or opinions you share, the better your presence will be. It’s not only “come visit my website” but visiting others and leave a comment or rating. More on that next!
