Work at Home Moms: How to manifest your desires like a child Part 2

In the first part I told you a little about How to Manifest your Desires. It is a big and important part of personal growth and maybe you have been applying Principles of Manifestation without being aware of it. I am convinced I manifested my soul mate without knowing it (my husband, in case you are wondering).

One important aspect of Manifesting your desires is to see them in your mind as if they were already true and actual. The present is the only reality in your mind. That is why you have to think about what you want in present time and feel it. And I just witnessed a Manifestation of the Desires in a simple, innocent and beautiful way.

Last Friday I picked my mom and my 4 year old niece up from the Airport. They came all the way down (or “up” actually) from Peru to stay with us for few months. My niece has been thinking about her first visit to the States and what she is going to do ever since she knew she was coming, about three months ago.

The most powerful thought and image in her mind was the snow (she has never seen any). She kept asking me if there was going to be snow for Christmas. I promised her more than once that she was going to see snow but I could not assure her when.

In her mind she was already playing with the snow, making snowmen, throwing snow balls at her cousins (my children), taking pictures, etc. I was amazed when I learned that the Storm was basically following them! She even asked me to buy carrots to use as noses for the snowmen. We made it safely to our house on Friday evening and the next morning everything was white.

My niece manifested all the snow she wanted. She played, threw snow balls and made Snow Angels. She is not a bit tired of all the snow. The only thing left is the Snowmen and by now you must suspect that she will have that too.

Yes, I think the snow is her fault. Or rather, the Manifestation of her Desires.

I learned so much from this! I have learned basic principles of Manifestation but it’s not enough to learn. We have to know, to remind ourselves of them and to apply them constantly. Hey, if a 4 year old can manifest this much snow, we can do anything!

Work at Home Moms: How to manifest your desires like a child - Part 1

If you are not familiar with the concept of Manifestation, it basically means the materialization of your desires and dreams. Being Work At Home Moms, we need to have dreams, goals and a plan to make it happen.

The manifestation of your desires is an essential part of your business’s success because it will be the materialization of what you want. Why are you in business? What do you want to achieve? What do you want to manifest?

It can be a steady passive income that will allow you to travel the world. It can be to write a Best Seller book. It can be to send your children to any School. Anything that gets you going in your business is what you want to manifest.

In the next part of this post I will focus on the importance of believing that you already have what you want. The reason for this is that I have witnessed a beautiful example of manifestation.

Mom work: Got some Chritsmas Shopping done?

Tis the season to be jolly, holly, inspired and stressed... At least for me. Who said "me too?"... I don't even have to shop for that many people (and that many presents) but that Christmas Shopping takes a lot of time. And that is time I could be working on my business.

Yes, I have to confess, I'm taking time off my business to do some shopping. It's when I'm with my 2 year old (who is not going to tell anyone about their presents) and when I can get more done. And yes, it's the time when I neglect my business.

I was feeling unproductive and like I was losing sales. But then I read an article about How to Lose friends and Alienate people and it reminded me of WHY I am here.

I am here to help other Moms to find joy in their Home Based Business. I'm here to share what I learn, to show that I'm not perfect, to help other moms see that being a Stay At Home Mom Working from Home is a challenge that we can do. And sometimes that means taking the time to serve others. "Others" as in "our families", the most important people in our lives. I'm giving them a nice Christmas.

That comes with teaching my children to be responsible by taking time, at least weekly, to take care of my mom friends online. It comes with doing some Christmas Shopping, decorating the house, read more the Bible, go to Church, watch movies together, getting ready for the celebration of Giving, etc.

I'm giving myself to my family, friends, blog followers and the Online Community. Tis the season to give and do it jolly.

Social Media is being used more and more in business in general. Big companies like Dell, small local businesses and e-commerce companies are using sites like Twitter, Facebook and MySpace not only to create a costumer base but to keep in touch with their current one, and as a powerful marketing tool to attract more people. Successful Wahms: How important is learning and personal development?

In order to be a successful Work At Home Mom we have to develop certain skills. Organizational skills as well as leadership skills are only two of them.

There are certain skills that we can’t do without in business. Listening is one of them, as I've posted before. But even when we think is natural for us; we always have to learn more and more. I’ve always been told that I have the ability to listen but it’s not always easy, especially because I like talking.

Some times we need to work on a new set of abilities that are foreign to us and some times we have to un-learn what is part of our baggage. And always we have to tap into our singularity and empower those abilities and skills that make us unique.

The point is, even with all the technical and practical knowledge to run a business, we need to learn and work on personal development if we want to be successful WAHMs. There are too many things to learn and it’s impossible to do it all but keeping that sense of wonder and curiosity is not only healthy but a potential for personal growth.

Personal development has many aspects like self knowledge and discovering of self purpose, identifying your potential, building an identity, fulfilling dreams and aspirations, finding inspiration and motivation, letting go of destructive relationships or influences, etc.

We have to take the time to work on our personal growth because that is reflected in the rest of activities that make our businesses productive. This blog is about Network Marketing for Moms, but this is true for any business and life in general!.

Internet Network Marketing and Home Parties, Part 2

In the first part I talked about how offering value is a common feature for success in Internet Network Marketing and Home Parties. In this part we will see a similitude between Internet Network Marketing and Home Parties when the sales happen.

In Online MLM when you have visitors in your website it’s important that they come back. How? Asking for their information! When you have a name and email address you keep sending more value in Newsletters, mini Courses, Special Reports, etc. And you can sell.

When does the sale happen during a Home Party? Usually at the end, right?, when (ideally) everyone is anxious to take their wallets out. They can’t wait to give you their money. They get a good product and you get the sale. It’s a win-win.

Internet Network Marketing and Home Parties are methods to build a Network Marketing business. Both are a process. You give value, establish yourself as a leader, ask your prospects’ information, keep building a relationship (follow up) and earn the right to sell.

When you use Attraction Marketing in any of those methods, you will attract success in Network Marketing.

Internet Network Marketing and Home Parties, Part 1

I've posted before about MLM Online and Home Parties. These are two strategies to build a Network Marketing business and I feel that we can say more about them.

MLM online is taking the Internet like a storm. It’s the new era in Network Marketing. It’s about using Internet as the backbone of your business. It goes beyond sending emails or placing orders. But my guess is that Home Parties will still go strong.

How can they be similar? What do they have in common?

To build a Network Marketing business online we need people looking at our content, Which means, we need to create content and it has to be valuable. We need to earn the right to sell our products, our business or both.

The most successful Home Parties are the ones that offer valuable information. This can be, for instance, in the form of an Awareness Seminar, Spa or Hands-on learning where the guests can see and try the products. They learn how they can benefit from them and can see the value you offer.

Building an MLM business online is no different. You offer value with your content and your visitors may want to come back. They can tell other people about your website by sharing it in Social Media sites. In Home Parties, when one guest invites other, there are chances that she is going to buy again from you when she comes back, and probably the new guest will too. In both cases you earned the right to sell by offering value.

Online Network Marketing Tip for Moms: the one skill that we all need to work on

One of the most important, if not THE most important skill in Network Marketing is listening. I’ve posted before about the importance of listening more and talk less. Is a skill that I am working on too.

Have you felt before that you have something in control and suddenly you realize you don’t? I felt like that when I read about how lead-generation tools can be only a little part of success in Online Network Marketing when you don’t listen. I always have Network Marketing Moms in mind when I create content. My goal is to share simple ways to build our businesses online. I want to give you what you need and what you are looking for. But now my commitment is even greater. I’m tuning in my ears to pay more attention to myself and to you.

As moms we are always demanding from our children that they listen to us. What does that mean? We want them to pay attention to what we are saying and act accordingly. Many times I hear myself saying “you weren’t listening!”. What is the outcome of lack of listening? They get in trouble, at least, because they didn’t do what they were supposed to. And more than once we have to repeat the same thing over and over and over and over and… you know what I mean.

In Online Network Marketing (and offline too!) similar things happen. I want to generate more leads so I have to listen more carefully to my intuition and to what other Network Marketing Moms need. If I don’t, I risk not doing what I’m supposed to do.

If you are struggling with your business this may be the reason why. Look at your target market again and get to know it. Listen to it so you can offer them what they need and want.

One sure way to fail in Network Marketing, Part 3

In the first two parts of this series I told you how I was a lead being called by a Network Marketer. This made me think about the times when I called leads and how uncomfortable it can be. Calling cold leads can be one sure way to fail in Network Marketing.

I know that there are people who succeed doing this. I know that saying that this is a sure way to fail in Network Marketing is controversial. But for many Network Marketers it is. It’s not just about a bad script or a bad lead.

It’s the difference between attracting people and chasing them. Cold calling may be your best chance to fail in Network Marketing because you are not attracting these leads to you, you are going after them.

There is an alternative way to build a Network Marketing business besides calling people who don’t want to be called. Some forget that they filled out a form or lose interest in a home business. Some just have no idea they are leads.

Even with great and hot leads you have to go through many until you find a good prospect for you. And if you don’t have good communication skills you are wasting your money anyway. Don’t get me wrong, you do need those skills if you are doing Network Marketing Online too.

The only point I want to make here is that we don’t need to do that! We don’t need to call cold leads. The best leads to call are the ones who have asked us to do so. That usually happens only after they receive value from us, know they can learn from us and want to work with us.

If you are still making those calls and are feeling frustrated about it, it’s time to consider using the Internet to attract prospects and build your Network Marketing business.

One sure way to fail in Network Marketing, Part 2

In the first part I told you how I was caught off guard when a guy called me to find out if I was interested in his opportunity. If you missed Part 1 here is it again: One sure way to fail in Network Marketing, Part 1

My caller was obviously growing impatient with me and decided to blow me off before I could waste his time. He offered his phone number for me to call him back. I asked him if he knew that that didn’t work and if he really wanted to talk to me he should call me back.

Maybe not the best thing to say. Hey, I said I was practicing my "Keen Insight" skills, not that I had perfected them. Between awkward laughs, he said that he did and that was why he was giving his number because he knew that if I were interested in making money with this great opportunity, I would call him. And I was honest to say that I wasn’t interested.

Even though we were laughing, I could sense that he was irritated and uncomfortable. He was wasting his time with someone who wasn’t going to be a good prospect after all when he could probably be making other more productive calls. Maybe he had a long list of current Network Marketers in other Companies. After all, those are good leads, right?

I was almost embarrassed thinking that I’ve done that before. I never called Network Marketers just because I didn’t get to it. But I have called business owners, Realtors and purchased leads, among others.

People who didn’t know me nor recognize my name. People who didn’t know if I could teach them how to build a business. I had to try to convince them of that during the call with my security, self confidence and unbreakable voice. The problem was, with every failed call it was harder to keep my motivation and posture.

One sure way to fail in Network Marketing, Part 1

Last week I read with especial interest one of Ann Sieg’s email. She told her subscribers how she witnessed these guys calling friends in their list of prospects. This was while she was working on content online.

The point was that there are still many people out there who don’t know about Internet Network Marketing. Even when we think that we have saturated the market online, we have not!

There are new and seasoned Network Marketers who are still unaware of the power of Internet to build their businesses. There are many Home Business owners who are working on their lists, calling friends, family and cold leads. And failing in Network Marketing.

One of those called me on Friday. It was a bad moment for me to be on the phone. We had just gotten home from school. We had a scary moment when we saw a 3 year old running across the street and his older brother running after him. “We” as in my 7 year old daughter, my 2 year old son and I. Actually, she answered the phone.

Needless to say, I wasn’t the best prospect at the moment. I was caught even more off guard when, after I took the phone, the guy mentioned my MLM Company. It took me a moment to realize that it wasn’t an official call from the Company but someone who was trying to interest me in another opportunity.

He was good at recognizing that it wasn’t a good moment for me and asked me when it was. He didn’t estate his name or the purpose of his call until I asked. Having been in a great call with Ellie Drake (“Developing a keen insight”, thanks to Mike Klingler), I practiced my recently acquired listening skills.

Stay At Home Mom Working from Home: How to be a successful WAHM Part 2

In the first part we talked about being organized and write down your goals. Other components to being a Successful WAHM are:

3. Set your goals, write them, keep them in sight. This will keep you motivated. There are days when we don’t want to do anything. But we must keep going. I look at my board with thoughts, phrases and dreams and I know where I’m walking towards. Honestly, it was easier to feel frustrated when I used only traditional methods in Network Marketing. Using Online Marketing allows you to be productive without having to check “Zero people contacted today”.

4. Have a mentor. This is crucial. Who can teach you what to do? If you are a Network Marketing Mom then you already have people ready to coach you. But you can also find coaches online, leaders who will be more than happy to help you or have great material for free.

5. Be patient. Usually a business needs few years to take off. You will always learn about people who did it in months or even weeks but do your best not to compare with them. There are many successful WAHMs out there. Learn from them but don’t compare. You can’t have what you envy. Your situation is unique, your frustrations are unique and your abilities and gifts are unique. Be patient with yourself. I know that I can do in one week what other people do in one day. But I’m patient. If I persist I will be victorious. And so do you.

Stay At Home Mom Working from Home: How to be a successful WAHM Part 1

Being a Stay At Home Mom is a wonderful and beautiful job. It’s challenging and draining too. Working from home can be the answer to different needs: the need to supplement your income, the need for personal development, the need to express creativity, the need to use personal qualities like teaching, writing or speaking, the need of adult interaction, the need of freedom in the long term, etc.

But I haven’t seen very often that Working from Home answers the need to have a more chaotic schedule. Going from “just” (in quotes because is an already very hard work) Stay At Home Mom to a Work at Home Mom is another wonderful, beautiful, challenging and draining experience. It can be overwhelming especially at the beginning when you are learning how to do it.

Network Marketing is the option for many WAHMs but the tips that I’m sharing here apply for any Mom who wants to be a successful Stay at Home Mom working from home.

This is not the ultimate list. My intention is actually to give a starting list you can add to as you learn more about your Industry, your niche, your product, your strategy for building your business, marketing, etc.

1. Be organized: If you were not organized before, this is the time to be! You are a Work at Home Mom but probably your schedule still goes around your children’s. Maybe you are active in other groups too. Don’t leave your business in the back burner if you want it to work. Even if you have to work during the evenings, give it always a priority in your mind. What works for me is to start my day with house chores. When the house is organized is easier to work.

2. Be focused: Work time is work time. I know, we all have interruptions. It’s frustrating when you are about to type a great blog post and little voices start asking you for whatever-it-is-you-don’t-want-to-know-about. And yes, your husband goes in that group too. Try to find a time slot when you can be the Working from Home Mom you can be. If it’s absolutely impossible to eliminate distractions, then have fun with it. What you can do in 20 minutes will be accomplished in one hour and you know what? You have to be proud you did it!

Online Marketing Success: Two Tips for Network Marketing Moms

Sometimes we waste time thinking (and even worse, saying) that we don’t know what to do in Online Marketing. Unless you are really starting you do know what to do: post in your blog, build a list, work on personal development, have a good opt in form, reuse content for Newsletters and articles, use Social Media, etc.

There are so many things to do that it can be overwhelming. Add to that endless loads of laundry, the “magic sink” (you know, the one that is always full as much as you empty it), feeding your family, chauffeuring your children , etc.

So my two tips are simple and direct:

1. Have a plan
2. Act upon it

That’s it! I know, it’s not rocket science. It works for almost anything you want to accomplish, too.

Pick few productive actions that you can focus on every day. One thing that you always need in Online Marketing is content. You also need promotion. Those two activities can be divided in multiple tasks like creating a new Squidoo lens, submitting an article to Ezine Articles or other Directory, posting in your blog, Tweet your post or other people’s post, test opt in forms, tweak a landing page, etc.

You don’t need a big plan. A business plan is good because it reminds you of where your business is going. But you also need a daily list of activities. Cross them out as you complete them.

That means, you have to complete them!. Be realistic. As much as I want to work without distractions, sometimes things happen. My daughter wants to run away, my toddler didn’t make it on time to the bathroom, my pre teen tries to help but gets dirty too. Oh, yeah, we have interruptions.

But we keep on going, we keep taking action. Work every day. Don’t allow yourself to end a day without a victory. My victory today, after a long Monday, is to post on my blog. What are you going to do?

Blogging tips: Three blogging secrets for Network Marketing Moms Part 2

Blogging is a great way to establish yourself as a leader in your niche, especially when you are using the Internet to build your Network Marketing Business.

Here is the third secret that can help you optimize your search engine (be in the the first pages of Search Engines)

3. Ping, Digg, Social Bookmarking: This is a valuable piece or information. Don’t overlook it and use it!. Every time you have something new in your blog, ping it!.

Pinging is a way to tell several Social Media sites that you have something. It helps with search engines too. Use one of this websites: pingoat.com, pingmyblog.com or ping.in. You only have to add your URL and the FEED URL (I’ll make another post about it), and select the sites you want to send the information to. Believe me, it can make a difference. Make it a habit. It takes less than a couple of minutes.

As for Digg and Social Bookmarking, it takes more time but it’s a great way to put your information in front of more people. You can install Social Bookmark Services in your bar and use it every time you have something new. This Service includes Digg and other websites where people exchange information. Share your own blog posts and other people’s valuable information. Remember that in Attraction Marketing giving is key. When you only give your stuff that is taking!

Blogging tips: Three blogging secrets for Network Marketing Moms Part 1

Blogging is a great way to establish yourself as a leader in your niche, especially when you are using the Internet to build your Network Marketing Business.

There are three secrets that I want to share here because they help me use my time efficiently and have taken some of my posts to the first pages of Google.

1. Know your keywords and who you are targeting with them: Keywords, like the word estates, are key! They can help you rank way high in the search engines and that in turn helps you with traffic for your blog. Google the keywords “network marketing moms”. I own almost all of the results in the first page. It’s my niche and I work smart to stay there. But I also target other keywords with more traffic.

I’ve given before a link to a great source for keywords: http://vur.me/networkmarketingmoms/digforgold/. It can be time consuming to find a good keyword but this Report really helps you see that sometime we waste time using keywords that don't have traffic. You will need it often.

2. Use your blog like a book: Don’t hesitate in have more than one keyword. Every blog post is like a chapter in a book and it can drive more traffic, even for different target markets. Look up again “home parties or mlm online”, I own the first two or three results. I’m targeting not only moms but network marketers who are interested in Home Parties.

Use one keyword and target it, use another one and target it. Don’t use one keyword and try to give everything to know about other subjects. Concentrate. If your blog’s title is your name, this is even more important.

Be careful not to do opposite either: do not use every blog post for a different keyword. Group them under few categories.

WHAM: What is your brand in Network Marketing?

In case you didn’t know, WHAM stands for Work At Home Mom or Working At Home Mom. More and more moms are deciding to be home with their children and make money. There are many possibilities for moms to make money from home.

You can work for somebody else or start your own business. I find Network Marketing to be a great option for Moms who Work from Home because of its advantages. It doesn’t mean is the only option though. Many women have their own Company and products.

Either way, you still need a brand. Your brand is YOU. And that has to be at the center of your efforts, especially in Network Marketing. Of course you need a great product and service, but you want people to recognize your name.

By recognizing your name people feel like they have a relationship with you. It feels familiar to them. They may even find a competitor’s products to be the same quality than yours and still want to buy from you.

Don’t overlook the importance to make yourself known, even if your Company doesn’t go by your name. When you are in Network Marketing this is even more important because people will join YOU. They should know you before they know about the Company you represent.

Use the Internet to market your name and establish yourself as a leader. Give your prospects the opportunity to know you more with a website where your personality shines through. Use pictures, audio and/or video. Using the Internet doesn’t mean that people can’t see you.

Online Network Marketing tip – Why you need more than a website

Did you know that having a website is not enough to generate leads in Online Marketing? It’s a big part of your strategy, but you need more than a good website (take note: a good one, not just one).
It doesn’t have to be overwhelming for you if your budget is tight or just don’t know where to start. A blog is a perfectly fine way to begin.
But you also need a good system to follow. An Online Marketing system teaches you exactly what to do in every step of the way, what to say, which websites are the best for getting traffic, etc.
You can become an affiliate of the system you are using. That way you have another potential stream of income because you can promote it and monetize.
More than one Online Marketing system can do that for you. There is no one magic system and you can even follow two or three. That way your associates have more choices too.
But even a good system won’t do miracles for you if you don’t act upon what they teach.
The variable is you. How, are you going to make this happen? What do you have to offer to the Industry that makes you likely to succeed?

Tip for Affiliate Marketing: Are your affiliate commissions in danger?

One of the advantages of using Online Marketing in your Network Marketing business is the opportunity to use Affiliate Marketing. This allows you to earn money as you build your list of followers and sing up business partners.

You have to offer value and many times this comes from other people’s stuff. Some of this content is free and some is paid. In order for you to make money promoting other people’s paid content, you need an affiliate link.

An affiliate link looks something like this: www.yourname.what-you-promote.com or www.what-you-promote.com/yourname

The reality is that many people don’t like this and take your name out. They go directly to the author’s link. This way you lose your commission. Maybe you have done it too.

One way to protect your affiliate link is to cloak it. This may be a strange concept for you but basically means that you cover your link. What your prospect sees is a link that doesn’t look like an affiliate program. More importantly, if they try to take something out, they won’t be able to go to he content’s page.

Stay at Home Moms: How to supplement your income with Network Marketing

For a Stay At Home Mom it can be challenging and risky to start a business. We already have a hectic schedule. We need motivation, drive and persistence. But making money is possible if you know how to use Network Marketing to supplement your income.

An easy way to make money with Network Marketing is to sell your products at retail price. According to your compensation plan you might have 2 or 3 other ways to supplement your income. Maybe you can make money with sales volume or get bonuses for signing new costumers or business partners.

Nevertheless, this is limited. I bet the top leaders in your company have other different streams of income. Many of them offer exclusive training (besides the free one), sell their own CDs and material, have different websites, etc. This is a secret that rarely gets out.

One great way to supplement your income with Network Marketing is using Online Marketing. And this is not a secret anymore. Online MLM offers different ways to monetize your business like Affiliate Marketing and training programs. They don’t have to be affiliated with your business so you can benefit from sales outside your company.

Education in Network Marketing

In Network Marketing, education is essential for the success of your business. You have to educate your prospect about the industry of Network Marketing, about your opportunity and the Company you represent, about your products, etc.

The training part of the business is nothing more than education: you have to teach your associates how to do this business and how to make it profitable for them. You have to educate about what you know that works.

But what if we start the other way around? What if we start teaching our prospects how to build an organization, what to do in Network Marketing in order to succeed? That is at the heart of Attraction Marketing in Network Marketing. It is taking a principle of Marketing (education) into our Industry and thus providing the prospect with a good reason to keep coming back to you and be receptive to your information.

When you lead with the teaching about how they are going to make money, you start off letting them know that you are familiar with what you are doing. That can help with the percentage of people that drop off after signing up. They come into the business knowing exactly what they have to do.

Network Marketing moms: Home Parties or MLM online? Part 2

MLM online or Internet Network Marketing offers the advantage of reaching millions of people at once. Our job is to make it easy for prospects to find us instead of us going after them. It’s about using Attraction Marketing.

How can Network Marketing Moms attract people online? Giving valuable information: tips, ideas, stories, secrets, how-tos, something that can help them with their needs. It's giving something before getting something. Focus on what your target market needs and wants. Offer what they are looking for.

Attraction Marketing is working when a Home Party is so popular and successful that you have to open new dates because people are telling other people. They come to you.

Attraction Marketing is working for MLM when people look for answers online and they find you. And, they tell others too.

Parties’ guests and online visitors are leads. And good leads are the ones who are willing to buy from you. Great leads are the ones who actually do.

Home Parties and Internet Network Marketing both require time and effort. If you are thinking about implementing these methods, learn about them and decide which one you prefer. Or use both!

Network Marketing Moms: Home Parties or MLM online? Part 1

There are many traditional methods in Network Marketing that can be used by moms: one to ones, two to ones (or more), hotel meetings, Playdates with Presentation included, and of course, Home Parties.

I’d dare say that Home Parties are one of the methods preferred by women in general and MLM moms in particular. Parties offer the advantages of potentially high retail sales, socialization and attraction marketing. When a couple of people like the Home Party, they are going to tell others and at some point you don’t have to worry about turn out. As more people come, more leads you have.

But for a vast number of Network Marketing Moms that doesn’t happen. Maybe one leader is unable to duplicate her success. Maybe the results of a new Associate are not encouraging because of lack of contacts, lack of organization, lack of a good presentation, etc. Plus, organizing a Home Party involves expenses that sometimes you can’t afford up front. Of course, if there is no risk, there is no gain, right?

Network Marketing Moms – The source website

I’m working on a new website where I want to share the sources of good information and training that I’m coming upon and using.

It’s called Network Marketing Moms (yes, more of that!). It’s basically another blog where I’m focusing on material that can be helpful for MLM Moms. They are good for everyone, though.

What do I consider a good source? Any material (video, e-book, Newsletter, article, Report, etc.) that has informative and useful content for our business. Some are free and some are paid. I know we all love free things but we have to be willing to invest in ourselves and our businesses too.

There used to be few people who were willing to tell the truth about Network Marketing. It wasn't like most of Network Marketers were dishonest (although some were) but that it was a secret.

Network Marketing Tip: Building the foundation of your business

Few days ago I read an email that let my thinking. It was about the foundation of our businesses.

Any business needs a good foundation, just like buildings do. The taller the building, the deeper the foundation. And the time it takes to build that foundation can be months. Months when you don’t see any of the building because everything is being worked underground!

We always hear comments about laying good foundations for our children. If we don’t give them good support, discipline, boundaries, guidance, it’s very likely that we will end up with disrespectful children. But how long does it take to give them strong roots? Years!

We can’t expect our businesses to grow if we don’t have the patience to build a strong foundation. If we don’t take time to work “underground” (reading, writing, creating leads, working on ourselves, etc) we can’t expect to see a tall building (i.e. a profitable business).

Why are keywords important in Internet Network Marketing?

Keywords are important because they can help you be in the first pages of Search Engines like Yahoo and Google. And that means traffic to your business.

Keywords are the phrases you use in your content. They denote the subject you are talking about and that is why is important to repeat it (without overdoing it).

By repeating the keywords throughout the content you make it easier for the Search Engines to realize that it is valuable information. By ranking higher, you can have more visitors because you are going to be exposed. When someone types something in the search box that is a keyword!

We do it all the time. We use keywords to do a research. We can use them to create valuable content for others too.

Important keywords are the ones that have little competition (not many people creating content for them) and good traffic (times that that phrase has been looked up).

Network Marketing tip: listen more, talk less

One of the secrets of prospecting in Network Marketing is to listen more and talk less. They say that’s why we have two ears and only one mouth.

When we listen we learn about the other person. We get to know her needs, what she wants and what she doesn’t want. It can save us embarrassment: we wouldn’t offer our products or business opportunity to someone who doesn’t need them or is against MLM.

The person asking questions is the one controlling the conversation. Once someone asks you what you do is the perfect time to talk about your business. But is also the perfect chance to lose your prospect!

If you get excited and give your pitch, you might be turning them off. And if you give a simple answer like “I have a home business” you are opening the door for questions and therefore, for losing control of the conversation. End every sentence with a question.

It’s easy to talk about us. The hard part is to listen and sincerely wanting to know about others. But that is what we need to do as Network Marketers: offer solutions after we know what others need.

How do we do this online? We listen when we give our readers time to come back for more information (free and paid) that is going to help them. When someone comes to us, she is pre sold in the idea that they need something. When we have what they are looking for that means that we listened and we can give what they need!

What is Network Marketing and MLM? Part 2

Network Marketing, like I said in the previous post, refers to the way the marketing is made in this business model. By marketing through a network of people you can sell your Company’s products or services.

Now you have to get paid for your efforts. This is where MLM, or Multi Level Marketing comes in the figure. It refers to the way you are paid, which is in multiple levels of marketing. This is because you not only sell products but the business opportunity thus building an organization of associates or distributors.

Your associates are going to do the same: sell products and the business opportunity. They build an organization too so this creates multiple levels, according to the Compensation Plan. Every time you make a sale, you get paid. And every time someone in your organization makes a sale, you benefit too. As your organization grows, your income potential does too.

There are different Compensation Plans and every Network Marketing Company chooses one to compensate their consultants. Usually they come with other ways to make money like bonuses or contests.

In sum, Network Marketing and MLM can be used indistinctively. The first refers to the way the products or services you offer are going to be marketed and ultimately, sold: through a network of people. The second refers to the way you are going to be paid: in multiple levels of compensation according to the sales you and your organization make.

What is Network Marketing and MLM? Part 1

This is the first of two parts for this post.

Are Network Marketing and MLM the same? What is Network Marketing? What is MLM?

Network Marketing and MLM are, basically, the same. They are two ways to look at the same thing, which is a business model. Network Marketing or MLM is a way of conducting business, of distributing products, services or information.

Network Marketing refers to the way the marketing is made, how the sales are created, how the distribution of products take place. So, the marketing in this business is made through a network of people. How you create that network is up to you. Traditionally, this would be the circle of influence you already have and build day by day with people you know (family, friends, coworkers, etc.). By connecting with them you can reach their own circle of influence too, so that the network never stops growing.

In recent years, the Internet has helped creating a new way to network with people you don’t need to know personally. Internet Network Marketing is becoming more and more popular, and it means that the Network is created online.

When you join a Network Marketing company, you start your own business. The start up cost is usually below a thousand dollars, very low compared with any other business you would want to start. Now your goal is to sell products, services or information (depending on the Company you choose) through that network I talked about. You can use traditional methods, Internet Network Marketing or a combination of both.

In the next part I'll talk specifically about MLM.

Why Stay At Home Moms can have a successful Network Marketing business

To be successful in Network Marketing you don’t need experience or high education. Anyone can do it. What you need, among other qualities, is to have the will to learn, be persistent, be consistent and work hard. And Stay At Home Moms know how to do that.

We learn something different with every stage of our children’s development. When you think you have figured out your parenting style and disciplinary strategy, along comes another child that tears everything down. And you have to learn again. It happens also when your only child learns new tricks and you have to keep up.

In Network Marketing there are always new things to learn, even when you think you have learned or read enough. Maybe it’s not because they invented a new way to do something, but because you didn’t know anything about it before. When you think you know how to give a presentation, you learn a new strategy that makes so much sense, you have to implement it.

Or a way to prospect, or a marketing strategy that makes things easier or new technology. We have to be willing to learn or we can easily stay behind and not get ahead in the business. We can even lose money if we are not willing to learn.

Work at home Moms: when do you work?

If you are working at home mom, you are adding to your current responsibilities. Whether you stay at home or work outside the house, you already have a lot to do. Let's face it: we don't have time to do more. What we have to do is make the time, manage it, organize it.

We all have 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. How are you going to make everything fit in your schedule?

We moved almost 2 weeks ago and it has been so crazy that I decided to focus on the move and nothing else. There are still bags and boxes laying around the house and not everything has a place but eventually it will look better. Now is time to go back to work and focus on more than one thing.

Working from home has its challenges, I've said it before. But one of them is at the same time one of its great advantages: we can set our working hours, we decide when we take vacations, we schedule activities according to our own criteria. This way we are truly responsible for our success or lack of it.

When do you work? Even when you don't feel like it or when you have to move. I gave myself a two week break and I now I have to regain my focus. Whatever you do, just don't stop!

MLM tip: “Everyone fails in Network Marketing!”

This is one common objection. Many people are turned off by the words “Network Marketing” because they have come to think that everyone fails. Well, maybe not everyone but a good 97% of Network Marketers.

In a different post I gave 5 reasons why people fail in Network Marketing. I used the word “fail” as in “stopped doing it”. Sometimes this also means “…and lost money”. We all have heard stories of people not making money with an MLM business and ending up with a garage full of products nobody wants.

But what is the definition of “fail”? In Merriam-Webster Dictionary, the definition of “fail” is “to lose strength…to fade or die away… to stop functioning normally… to be unsuccessful… to be deficient”, etc.

It’s genius! When people “fail” or are unsuccessful in Network Marketing is because they lose strength, stop functioning (working) or lack something (time, money, training, etc.) This is a business like any other, and like any other, it can take quite a while to take off.

If most people fail, is there something we can do to beat the odds? This video from Tim Sales gives an answer. The next time you hear or read about this, think about the difference between failing and quitting.

Monetization in Internet Network Marketing, Part 3: other ways to monetize in Internet MLM and advantages of monetization

One of the best ways to monetize an online MLM business is by offering a high quality information product. By educating people we establish ourselves as leaders. But at the same time, we know who is a qualified prospect. A person who buys something is investing and shows that is willing to work on her business.

Other ways to monetize in Internet Network Marketing can be through advertisement, selling space in our website for other products to me promoted. We can join ventures with other business owners by promoting their stuff to our list and vice versa, someone can offer our products to their lists. It’s using Affiliate Marketing in Network Marketing.

There are different options to monetize from your business when you build MLM online. The obvious advantage is that we are making money while building our organizations. Other advantage is that we can do so by promoting different products that are valuable for our prospects. We are not restricted by our company products.

For instance, as Network Marketing Moms we can promote services or products related to time management, organizational skills, tax benefits, mailing lists, being a business mother, etc.

The concept “multiple streams of income” take a new level with monetization in Internet Network Marketing.

Monetization in Internet Network Marketing, Part 2: Who do you sell to and how.

When you combine Internet and Network Marketing, one of the most important things is to establish yourself as a leader. The way to do this is by having valuable content written or recommended by you.

When you sell a high quality informational and/or educational product, you are monetizing. The prospects come to you; they like what they see and buy something you recommend whether or not they join your MLM opportunity or buy your company’s products. You are still making money even if someone is not in your downline.

But it’s going to take more than one visit to buy something you offer. How can we make someone come back? Asking for a prospect’s information! When they leave their information (name and email, i.e.), we have permission to contact them. This is the way to build a mailing list and with these prospects we build a closer relationship because we are allowed to keep in touch with them. We continue educating them (sometimes even with exclusive information).

Again, they can be or not in our organization. The bigger our mailing list, the bigger our potential for monetization and cash flow is. It doesn’t mean we can sell as soon as we have someone in our list. It means we have an audience who wants to hear from us. They are our costumer base, the ones who are more likely to buy from us because they know we offer value.

In the third and last part of these series I will present other ways we can monetize and some advantages of this feature of Internet Network Marketing.

Monetization in Internet Network Marketing, Part 1: one more reason to consider an MLM business opportunity to supplement your income

This is a series of three posts.

Monetization is one of the advantages of having an online Network Marketing business because you can make money while you are building your organization. It’s not about possible bonuses that your company offers every time you sign some up or your sporadic commission checks. It’s using ways to have cash flow that can be reinvested in the business.

With traditional methods in Network Marketing you can monetize basically when you retail your products or have costumers who buy over and over from you (it doesn’t mean this is the only way but the most common one). Maybe you know stories of parties that resulted in several hundred dollars in sales in only one night.

And when you have a loyal costumer base, it is easier to sell new products to them. But what if you have other products that are not your company’s? Would it be ethical to do that? What problems would you encounter to proceed?

This concept of monetization takes a twist when you use Internet Network Marketing. When you build an MLM business online you are not offering your opportunity or your company products from the beginning because you are first educating people in how to build a business. This way you can offer different products that will benefit your prospects.
